The AHD Model builds self-sustaining health care systems in rural Latin America. Although most of the population in our locale is extremely poor, many can afford services. Our model is different from others because we run it like a business but still serve everyone. The model works!
This is the first time a rural hospital in Latin America has achieved financial self-sustainability while providing a high quality, permanent service to an entire population – the majority of whom are children and women.
The success of Hospital PVM has attracted significant interest from health care organizations around the globe. At a local level, the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Ecuador has asked AHD to apply its model and its clinical, administrative, financial, and community best practices in a rural hospital in the city of La Maná.
How does AHD invest your gift?
AHD is a US 501(c)3 organization which means your gift is 100% tax deductible. You will receive acknowledgement of your gift by mail.
Your gift will be used to help cover the deficits in the operating budget for our hospitals. While Hospital PVM is self-sistaining, we are covering minor operating investments as we expand our model to Hospital La Maná. Donations are invested in the people who work on a daily basis on site and in the field. The money assures quality in the hospital, helps develop relationships with local institutions, and creates mechanisms to cover hospital operating costs. As you can see by the prices for services, your donation goes an extremely long way for our patients.
